課程概述

Course Description
The nature of this intensive course is a capstone project where interpreting students utilize what they have learned in areas such as conference preparation, interpreting skills, public speaking, business skills, professional code of ethics, and knowledge management to demonstrate their interpreting proficiency to a wide range of stakeholders, including instructors, colleagues, audiences, clients, and external panel of judges through simultaneous and consecutive interpreting tasks. Class activities may include conference preparation, interpreting exercises, simulated tasks, individual consultations, and stakeholder feedback. Guest speakers might also be invited to give lectures, share experiences, and provide guidance. The course culminates in a series of simultaneous and consecutive interpreting tasks in which students must independently showcase their interpreting proficiency. 

課程目標
Course Objectives
It is hoped that students would be able to achieve the “Competent” level of achievement in all tests in the final assessment. This will leave a positive impression on the panel of external judges and help students transition into the interpreting market more seamlessly. Most importantly, students would benefit from the independent assessments of the judges and more objectively mark the learning milestones they have achieved. 
課程要求
Requirements:
Prerequisite courses include “Advanced Consecutive Interpreting: Chinese into English” and “Advanced Consecutive Interpreting: English into Chinese” before registering for this intensive course. Students should also be taking, or have completed, “Advanced Simultaneous Interpreting: Chinese into English” and “Advanced Simultaneous Interpreting: English into Chinese”, when enrolling for the course. Students are required to participate in all class activities, including the exam.
